In 2011, Elsie K. Nelson established the Elsie K (Gilbert) Nelson Trust for the Benefit of Earnest Endeavors with the intention that the assets of the trust be used by her family to pursue a specific endeavor.
To be eligible for Grants, an Income Beneficiary of the Trust is defined as a descendant of Elsie K. Nelson’s parents Emma Bertha Talmon and Millard Glasgow Gilbert. For purposes of determining who is a descendant of Emma Bertha Talmon and Millard Glasgow Gilbert, the term descendant is broadly defined to include natural descendants, adopted descendants, stepchildren of natural descendants and foster-children of natural and adopted descendants.
Each Income Beneficiary will be limited to one (1) Grant per year and a total of seven (7) Grants in their lifetime. Income Beneficiaries will be asked to submit an application and documentation in support of the educational and/ or business endeavor being pursued. The Board of Trustees will meet quarterly (April, July, October, January) to review Grant Applications for approval or denial and the applying Income Beneficiary will be notified accordingly.
